Regional Sales Manager for Southern Africa Region

Job Summary

If you are a Sales Professional, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving profitable sales of products, solutions in the region. Drives for growth and penetration in the region consistent with Customers’ needs and according to Company strategy, objectives, and policies. Promotes and maintains a customer-focused culture within the organization to drive customer happiness in the region. This role will be also responsible for setting direction and sales pursuit strategies, developing sales teams and ensures that all sales channels meet the sales target and develop account strategy and complete key action plan. 

This job is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will be responsible for driving the Discrete Automation business predominantly in the Southern African Region.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

Authentic leadership and integrity to improve sales team efficacies, channel approach, and end customer focus. Drive sales growth in the African region. 100% ownership for the Southern Africa orders & sales targets within the Discrete Automation business. Direct and coordinate activities to promote the sale of new products & solutions breaking into new industry segments. Coordinate, monitor, and approve all commercial negotiations as per Delegation of Authority with customers and channels. Develop and implement strategic pricing actions to increase penetration and improve profits Reporting to leadership and contributes to strategic plans, propose and drive initiatives and plans in line with the company’s business units. Report the business on a monthly basis (and when required) with detailed analysis of performance vs planned Orders & Sales, Growth programs, Target Accounts, Opportunity funnel growth & accuracy, and improved Customer satisfaction. Enhance collaboration within the Business Development teams within Middle East & Africa and globally. Leverage across the business units of Emerson creating win-win opportunities Continuous development of sales staff including training, coaching, organizational efficiency planning, and performance reviews. Keeps leadership advised of market intelligence, strategic competitor information and provides recommendations Improves own professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Ensure all direct reports and you align with Ethics, Trade Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Health & Safety policies; guarantee that the Business meets Emerson Policies and Local Legislation. Promote a positive Company image.

For this Role, You Will Need:

Degree/Diploma in a vocation such as Mechanical/Mechatronics/Instrumentation/Automation or similar engineering or equivalent.  10-15 years of Sales Management experience with a proven track record locally and outside of South Africa  Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building. Excellent presentation and computer skills (Excel/PowerPoint/Word)

 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be proficient in English. Preferred experience within the Fluid Control/Pneumatics/PLC Scada environment  Significant experience in high-level business negotiations. Excellent commercial experience with the ability to understand customers and the Emerson business environment. Able to travel locally and abroad as per the job needs.
