We are seeking a dedicated Regional Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives in the manufacturing of Precured Treads (PCT). This role involves active cross-functional collaboration to address complex technical challenges with manufacturing sites, supplier quality, R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.  This position will play a pivotal role in strategic decision-making regarding quality and technical compliance for PCT in the region. 

The Regional Quality Engineering will oversee the development and implementation of updated specifications to ensure adherence to quality, technical, and regulatory standards.  This position is expected to develop and execute verification and validation protocols, establish clear acceptance criteria, and produce detailed reports to drive continuous improvement in product and process performance.  It is expected that the Regional Quality Engineer provide innovative solutions and support the successful execution of quality engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle related to PCT manufacturing.

 

Lead and Participate in Audits: Conduct and oversee quality audits (ISO 9001/IATF 16949) for PCT manufacturing locations. Act as a co-auditor for other manufacturing sites, including truck and passenger tires. Lead Auditor certification is advantageous.Develop and Maintain Quality Standards: Establish and uphold robust quality standards for the manufacture of precured treads, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.Documentation Preparation: Create comprehensive documentation such as inspection/testing procedures, work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, and process diagrams. Ensure all technical documents are clear, accurate, and meet internal and external standards. Review and provide feedback on peers' technical documents.Product Evaluation and Corrective Actions: Independently assess product specifications and initiate corrective actions for non-conformances in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Collaboration and Process Improvement: Work with manufacturing and development engineers to enhance process controls, optimize documentation, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights.Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies to optimize processes, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality.Project Leadership: Lead quality-oriented projects, ensuring timelines and goals are met while actively participating to achieve quality requirements and compliance.Customer Complaint Investigation: Investigate customer complaints and provide technical reports, collaborating with manufacturing sites, R&D, and supplier quality teams.AIAG Core Tools Proficiency: Demonstrate understanding of AIAG core tools, including FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC.Reporting:  Perform Regional reporting of performance indicators, track actions and follow-up. Participate in strategy planning a plant level, region and central level.Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to team success.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

Bachelor's degree in related engineering or science discipline2-5+ years of related professional manufacturing experienceIn-depth understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and problem-solving techniques (5WHY, A3, 8D)Strong technical writing skills for clear, accurate, and compliant documentsExperience in customer complaint investigations, failure analysis, and report writingProactive, self-motivated, and able to manage complex tasks and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to travel up to 30% - 40% of the time, both international and domestic travelLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
