ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and provide mentorship to claims service teamDevelopment and implementation of procedures, processes, and reporting practicesHandling of high-profile claims for top accounts and others as necessaryEnsure service levels and service level agreements are consistently met by reviewing outstanding claims, claims workflows, and phone systems  Build trust with external and internal management teams through direct interactions and presentationsProvide and support clients with claims solutions specific to their business operationsAssist account executives, agents and client service units with managing clients’ potential exposuresCoordinate and participate in claim reviews with multiple insurance carriers &/or TPA’sAssist with marketing of claims services to prospective new accountsCommunicate and strategize with account executives, client services, insureds, carriers, TPAs, adjustersManage all vendor relationships working with departmentReview policies to determine coverage for appropriate reportingDevelop, initiate and manage system enhancements and improvementsMaintain and develop reporting for executive management, client service unitsCommunicate with executive management, account executives, agents and client services regarding potential large losses and denialsNavigate various carrier databasesHands-on interaction with client service and product servicing unitsReview carrier coverage position letters and as appropriate create correspondence disputing the carrier positionAbility to present at RFPs, client presentations and WebinarsResponsible for creating own correspondencePerform other specific duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

7+ years of experience in personal and commercial insurance claims is requiredExperience handling claims across multiple commercial lines policy types and client industriesExtensive technical knowledge of insurance policies and coverage triggersBachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant working experience is requiredPrior leadership/management experience is highly preferredActive Illinois Property & Casualty License or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment is requiredProfessional insurance designations are highly preferredStrong understanding and comfort using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Strong customer service, organization and time management skillsStrong decision making and problem-solving skills

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 to $160,000  and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, and personal days, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
