Regional Practice Area Senior Manager

What You'll Do

As a Regional Practice Area Senior Manager, you will be sought as a thought partner, supporting leadership in setting the strategic and operating agenda and defining implementation activities for the North America Health Care business while also providing ad hoc support for priority initiatives across the PA. You will work closely with both Regional and Global Health Care Practice Area Leadership to drive coordination and development of the Health Care PA business. Other tasks include business analysis and planning, as well as leading implementation of the PA’s strategy and operational plans, internal communication and affiliation activities.

In addition, you will manage the commercial plan and monitor the state of the business (e.g. lead flow, proposal pipeline and sold cases), reaching out to relevant Client Officers/Managing Directors as well as other internal groups, including Regional Finance.

BCG’s Health Care Practice Area (HCPA) helps companies grasp the strategic implications of changes in the market environment and leverage them to build competitive advantage. The practice serves clients across the health care (HC) industry including the biopharmaceutical, medical technology, payer, provider, health care services, and global health sectors.

 

Strategy development, planning and operating model formalization for the practice

Together with Regional Leadership team – develop annual plan, set priorities, and guide implementation/ tracking of progress

Business development and execution support:

Establish ongoing, early visibility on commercial pipeline, working with industry and sector leadersOwn end-to-end ongoing and ad-hoc business reporting needs for the regionAct as a go-to person / expert navigator for proposal and case teamsSupport North American Region’s client prioritization and planning activities, in partnership with the SectorsSupport other business community activities as needed

Affiliation and engagement and beyond:

Ideate communication plan, keeping pulse with other members for the leadership team and shaping the agenda; ensuring things go outWork with regional Practice Area leaders on all communication forums (e.g., building materials, etc.)Work with leadership to set agenda for and develop communication for Health Care affiliates in the regionDrive planning for regional meetingsProject manage affiliation events in the region with sectors / broader team (more focus on agenda items)Lead regional engagement and activities including internal communications (e.g., regional newsletter, town hall agendas ,etc)Work closely with Global People Strategy Sr. Manager for Health Care on affiliation, people processes, career development, etcCollaborate if needed with the Health Care Vantage team on Knowledge management within the regionContribute to practice area projects globally.

What You'll Bring

8 - 10 years of relevant experienceMaster’s degree preferredRole related certifications preferredAbility to manage and drive area of accountabilities, contributing to higher level agenda settingAbility to lead more complex, broader sub functional teams or projects fully independently and provide direction to othersAbility to resolve complex issues and non-defined problems autonomously, with full business acumenStrong interpersonal skills, credibilityAbility to influence senior members of the PA and beyondAbility to respect sensitive client, BCG, and people related information as personal and confidentialStrong written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced knowledge in Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

Who You'll Work With

Practice Area Management & Operations team members keep BCG’s industry and functional practice areas operating responsively and efficiently. As a member of this team, you will contribute directly to the success of our business through a number of roles, including content development, process management, marketing, meeting and conference management, and internal/external communications. You will also interface and build networks with the broader ecosystem of operations teams across BCG, including Recruiting, HR, Finance.
