Summary

The Regional O&M Manager is responsible for managing the operations and maintenance of the RNG fleet.  Perform all duties in compliance with company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to operations, safety, conduct, and housekeeping.  Protect the owner’s investment regarding machinery, equipment, and facilities by exercising care, skill, and knowledge.

Oversee all exempt and non-exempt employees, conduct monitoring, inspection, maintenance, and control of all project equipment to ensure safe, compliant, continuous, and efficient operations.  Take action as necessary to prevent any safety violations or production loss. Ensure that all work assignments are in alignment with client requirements.  Manage the day-to-day workload of Process Operators, Lead Operators, Operations & Maintenance Technicians, and Instrumentation & Controls Electricians and guide their technical and professional development. Conduct periodic reviews of project policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current project goals, operating requirements, and the industry’s best in-class. Motivate, direct, and supervise employees to accomplish their assigned duties effectively and efficiently through performance appraisals, reward, discipline, and management skills. Improve techniques and methods of process controls that will increase operational efficiencies. Record and analyze statistical data concerning operations to ensure that the facilities are operating as specified. Develop and maintain long-range maintenance plans and utilize an organized method of planning day-to-day activities, including weekly and monthly plans. Delegate projects and tasks to employees to ensure an acceptable backlog of work orders and work are properly distributed.  Expose employees to various functions within the project, thus promoting the experience level of the staff. Troubleshoot failures and malfunctions to determine the root cause and maintain, operate, repair, and replace equipment as necessary. Monitor and optimize project performance.  This includes periodic testing, evaluations, and recommendations to the owner for improvement projects with cost justifications.  Encourage staff to incorporate improvements internally to reduce contractor costs. Manage staff to promote efficient operations and utilization of overtime hours. Communicate effectively with site staff, Operations Director, facility owner, farmers, and outside agencies. Demonstrate effective management skills by meeting or exceeding facility goals and objectives and support the Operations Director by ensuring that NAES is performing in accordance with the O&M Agreement. Lead the effort to identify problem areas when there are repeat problems, inefficiencies, or unsafe conditions.  Once identified, prepare capital project suggestions with appropriate cost benefit analysis. Ensure proper, efficient, and safe operations of facility equipment by establishing, implementing, and maintaining equipment operating procedures. Coordinate contractor support required for equipment repair or maintenance, including work scope, negotiations, contract development, and implementation. Lead the planning of maintenance outages using effective time-management principles. Provide the Operations Director with information concerning the availability and reliability of facility equipment. Support equipment operations through the implementation of preventive, predictive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance planning, and procedures. Develop and maintain equipment history operating records, including equipment operating hours, maintenance downtime, costs, availability, manpower utilization and report such information to the Operations Director. Assist Operations Director regarding developing and monitoring facility’s budget and operating plans, and the development of Operators. Continually develop knowledge of the project and the renewable natural gas industry in general. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel expected for the position 40-50%

Working Relationships

Report to the Operations Director and supervise DenDulk, Castor, Bridgewater, and Helios employees.

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $110,600 to $134,900

Job Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry or related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Years of Experience: Five years of power plant, Natural Gas Pipeline, Wastewater, or similar experience. Three years of experience supervising technical, operations or maintenance personnel. Preferred Experience: Three years of anaerobic digester experience. Three years of Gas Upgrading System Experience (GUS). Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License Software/Equipment Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems. Other Considerations: Excellent communication skills, both in verbal and written forms. Able to gather pertinent information quickly and accurately and able to communicate information professionally and precisely. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to assess problems and situations, / recommend a path forward, and evaluate alternatives to resolve problems.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Physical requirements include the possibility of standing on feet, for extended periods; requiring stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, high-voltage protective equipment, etc.).  Work with hazardous materials may be required. Position requires extended work hours and varied shifts, including weekend and holiday work; as required by schedules, workload, and facility conditions. Being on "On-Call" status will periodically be required. All employees will participate in the Fitness-for-Duty Program. This Program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions, in and around the facility.
