With a focus on immunology that extends to innovation in diabetes and transplant medicines, we pursue progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world. **Main Responsibilities** The aT1D Regional Medical Director's role is to manage the medical science liaison (MSL) team and ensure tactical execution of the autoimmune T1D Immunology strategic engagement plan. **Medical Strategy, tactical execution, & performance measurement** + Co-create/develop Country Medical Plans (with T1D Immunology Medical Manager, Regional Medical Directors, Field Medical Director(s), and/or home office Medical Directors) and align MSL initiatives and resources to medical strategic priorities. + Translate overall priorities into specific, impactful goals and expected outcomes for target region and individual MSLs + Supervise MSL KOL management, territory management, matrix partner relationships, and ensure medical strategy alignment. Monitor progress and executional success of territory-level plans, leveraging all available MSL tools (i.e. Scientific Engagement Model). + Monitor operational efficiency to ensure balance of internal vs. external-facing activities. Ensure multi-channel engagement strategies are implemented. + Identify and support opportunities for innovation and field excellence initiatives that differentiate Sanofi Medical and amplify the value of HCP interactions. + Support prioritization of Clinical Studies and pipeline initiatives, led by the Field Medical Clinical Director **Lead and communicate scientific and medical insights** + Lead internal collaboration on insight-generating activities and ensure data, facts, and observations are gathered, reviewed, and analyzed to be identified as insights and incorporated into strategic decision-making + Lead communication of impactful T1D insights to regional teams and cross functional stakeholders; follow up with MSL team on the business impact of their gathered insights **Team coaching, development, and career pathway planning** + Understand MSL areas of strength and those for development through regular coaching sessions around the four core accountability areas: (1) Scientific Engagement (2) Insights Generation (3) Support Data Generation (4) Internal Collaboration. + Lead and guide individual and team development, including leadership skills and T1D Immunology-related clinical and technical proficiencies + Monitor MSLs’ accomplishments toward medical and business priorities, pro-active scientific communication, and course-correct team toward success, and keep leadership informed of progress. + Support strong management of MSL career pathway plans with consideration of the needs of the MSLs and the business, including talent attraction, engagement, retention, and development + Ensure MSLs fulfill global and corporate compliance training requirements; ensure their execution of such training during internal and external engagements + Ensure MSLs compliantly recognize and share competitive intelligence with relevant internal stakeholders **About You** **Required Education & Experience** + Medical, pharmacy or post-graduate level science degree required.
