Regional Manager, Employee Relations

This employee plans and administers policies relating to all phases of employee relations activity for Lincare.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Identifies legal requirements (Federal and state) and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and makes recommendations to ensure company policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
Responds to inquiries from employees regarding policies, procedures, and programs
Works with business leaders to build successful working relationships with managers and employees through coaching and development of leaders
Partners with leadership in an effort to increase retention and overall job satisfaction within the assigned business units
Works proactively with regional locations to provide education and guidance to managers and employees about general employment/company policies and protocols, including how to maintain professional and respectful work environments for all employees
Investigates and makes recommendations to business management regarding appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, including performance coaching and counseling, performance reviews, informal and formal corrective action, and employment termination
Prepares corrective action documents and/or termination memos requested by the business managers
Whenever possible, independently investigates managers' concerns to confirm validity and consistency in the application of company policies and standards
Ensures all mitigating factors are considered in advising on the final decision of the business
Conducts internal investigations into complaints of harassment, discrimination, or other employment- related issues
Conducts internal investigations for claims from outside agencies and works with outside counsel regarding additional inquiry, information gathering, and interviews
Manages a team of 2 to 4 HR Business Partners, including authority to select, manage, review, discipline, and/or terminate said employees
Assists direct reports with professional development through support and guidance as needed, oftentimes serving as a resource when faced with more complex/unusual issues to ensure proper action and consistency within the organization
Also provides backup support when direct report(s) are out of the office/on business travel
Assists other regional Employee Relations teams as required
Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
Travels as required for site visits, investigations, agency audits, legal issues, etc.
Travel requirements generally do not exceed 30% of job annually
Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., local time
Work schedules are currently hybrid (3 days in-office; 2 days work-from-home)
