Eurofins Food Feed and Water Benelux is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead and manage all aspects of IT operations, services, and strategy for our Food Testing division in the Netherlands and Belgium. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the alignment of IT strategies with business objectives, driving digital transformation initiatives, and overseeing the effective management of technology platforms across multiple business units. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in IT leadership, be able to drive change even when facing resistance, collaborate across functionals, and have a proven ability to deliver technology solutions that drive business success. Familiarity with laboratory practices would be a beneficial, as well as exposure to large-scale software migrations.
Key Responsibilities
+ Managing Director (solely authorised to represent the company)
+ Responsibility for 3 Team Leads heading up 3 teams (IT Operations, IT Delivery and IT Infra, total approx. 20 employees)
+ Responsible for the following IT topics:
+ Operation, maintenance, deployment of LIMS applications (laboratory information and management system equivalent to an ERP)
+ International harmonisation of software applications
+ Change management driven by harmonisation.
+ Creation of concepts for IT projects (feasibility analysis, making a recommendation)
+ Operation of commercial software systems (licenses, maintenance contracts)
+ Digitalisation (processes and interfaces)
+ Requirements and stakeholder management
+ IT field service in the BNL region and Service desk
+ IT infrastructure projects
+ Collaboration and coordination with other IT teams (Group IT applications, IT Security, etc.)
+ IT costs: budgeting, controlling and cost optimisation.
+ Acting as contact person for the company and Management of the laboratories in all IT matters.
+ People management:
+ Team organisation and structure
+ Interfacing between the teams
+ Initiating change processes and managing change
+ Willingness to travel, both within the Netherlands and Belgium as well as occasionally outside of Benexlux
+ Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing IT operations in a regional or global context.
+ Proven record of managing cross-functional teams and delivering IT solutions that align with business strategy.
+ Experience with IT infrastructure management, digital transformation, and large-scale IT projects.
+ Skills & Competencies:
+ Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
+ Communication and influence skills: Persuasive communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to effectively bridge communication between business and IT, as well as across different IT teams.
+ Business management skills (able to manage and control a company with approx. 20 employees)
+ Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a deep understanding of the role of technology in business transformation.
+ General IT knowledge to be able to categorise trends and make recommendations, even if, for example, specific experience is still lacking.
+ Strong sensitivity for IT security processes and systems
+ Hands-on mentality
+ Strong project management and organisational skills.
+ The role requires proficiency in both English and Dutch.
