In this position... 

Join us as the Manager - HRBP for PS&L – Distribution & Logistics for the west and Central Region where you'll lead a transformative HR organization in a dynamic and unionized environment. This is a Region with 7 distributions sites, ~500 people. You will align HR functions with strategic business objectives, working closely with Operations Leadership and central HR teams to deliver advanced HR solutions that enhance the employee experience and drive business success. Your expertise in union relations and employee engagement will be crucial in developing a high-performing workplace that enhances both employee satisfaction and operational excellence. 

You will work closely with the leadership team to drive transformational and strategic initiatives, ensuring our workforce is empowered and equipped to achieve our goals.

You'll have...

Bachelor’s degree or master’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Organizational Development or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. 8-10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role focused on HR operations and strategic HR leadership in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Business Partnership

Cultivating strong employee relationships based on respect to prevent escalations and enhance engagement and trust for operational excellence. Collaborating with leadership to implement standardized recruitment processes, including thorough background checks and cultural fit assessments, and designing comprehensive onboarding programs with structured manager meetings and support during adjustment periods. Coaching operations leaders on effective communication, visibility, accessibility, and consistent leadership practices to promote reliability and honest dialogue. Applying lean methodologies and progressive HR practices to achieve best-in-class operations, ensuring equitable practices in wages, PTO, overtime, job postings, and management attention. Implementing comprehensive recognition and reward systems, workforce planning strategies, and initiatives that promote employee engagement, diversity, and professional development within an inclusive, high-performance culture.

Employee & Union Relations

Develop and maintain a robust communication framework for constructive dialogue between union representatives and management, ensuring accurate interpretation and consistent implementation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). This includes co-creating and managing innovative labor agreements, conducting local contract negotiations, and administering existing agreements to maximize value and minimize disputes. Maintain a regular floor presence to proactively identify and address employee concerns using Gemba principles and PDCA to uncover root causes and prevent escalation. Oversee the fair and consistent resolution of all employee and union issues, including conflicts, disputes, and disciplinary matters. Lead and conduct thorough investigations into disciplinary issues, grievances, and discrimination charges, escalating significant concerns as needed. Collaborate with legal counsel on lawsuit discovery and litigation, ensuring compliance and consistent application of people policies. Foster a positive and inclusive employee experience through proactive initiatives, including executing corporate HR programs and utilizing feedback from surveys and open-door policies. Prepare reports and analytics to monitor employee relations trends and partner with health and safety leads to address wellness concerns and improve safety performance.

People Leadership

Lead and inspire a diverse HR team by fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment that emphasizes continuous development and strategic alignment with organizational and HR-specific goals. Champion HR initiatives that drive performance excellence, employee engagement, and organizational culture. Ensure open communication and innovation, empowering team members to contribute effectively as strategic business partners in advancing the company's success.
