Our client in London is looking for Regional Head of Health Safety & Environment, this role reports to the HSE Director. As the Regional Head of Health, Safety and Environment your key responsibilities & accountabilities will be:
Strategic Leadership & Governance Drive a consistent safety culture across the organization Oversee critical HSE documentation: HSE Management System HSE Plan Construction Phase Plan Environmental and Waste Management Plans Implement international standards including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ESG, IFC, World Bank EHS, and EBRD Ensure the HSE Director is fully informed on reportable events, corrective actions, and related agreements Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Act as an HSE authority to Project Management and regional/site HSE Managers Attend client and internal meetings, promoting corporate HSE values Support the Sales team with HSE inputs for tenders Share knowledge and experience on HSE matters with internal stakeholders Audits, Inspections & Site Support Plan and organize HSE audits and inspections across regional sites Conduct audits to empower and motivate site teams toward HSE excellence Support Project Management during the setup of new sites KPI Management & Reporting Monitor Project HSE KPIs and ensure timely reporting to Head of HSE Review regional HSE KPI submissions before forwarding to HSE Director Training & Continuous Improvement Identify and plan HSE training needs based on training matrix in coordination with Head Office Communicate lessons learned across projects to foster shared improvement Lead investigations into major environmental or safety incidents Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to business-wide enhancements Behavioural Leadership Promote accountability, ownership, and integrity as core behavioral values Inspire trust through transparency, consistency, and reliability Prioritize mitigation of critical site hazards, including: Working at height Vehicle–person interface Housekeeping practice Key performance indicators: Number of formal HSE audits – 12/year Successful 3rd party audit, based on ISO 45001, 14001 certifications for the region and/or any other certification obtained in the future, in relation to HSE. Maintenance of Fellowship CPD records Evidence of innovations tried/adopted on site – 2/year Regional KPI reports – 12/year Safety Culture & Leadership Drive a unified safety-first culture across all levels of the organization Promote integrity, accountability, and ownership as fundamental behavioural values Demonstrate consistency, openness, and commitment to corporate HSE principles 2. HSE Strategy & Systems Oversight Lead oversight and high-level revision of: HSE Management System HSE Plan Construction Phase Plan Environmental and Waste Management Plans Ensure full implementation of international standards and frameworks including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ESG, IFC, World Bank EHS, and EBRD 3. Stakeholder Engagement Act as key HSE authority for Project Management and regional/site HSE Managers Engage with clients and project teams, promoting corporate HSE values and expertise Support Sales Team with HSE compliance in tender submissions 4. Audits & Site Support Organize and lead audits and inspections of regional sites Empower site teams to improve HSE performance through coaching and feedback Support setup and HSE readiness during mobilization of new projects 5. Performance Monitoring Monitor HSE KPIs across projects and ensure timely reporting to Head of HSE Validate regional KPI submissions before escalation to HSE Director 6. Training & Development Plan HSE training needs according to training matrix in coordination with Head Office Communicate lessons learned for continuous improvement across the business Lead investigations into major EHS and environmental incidents Participate in management reviews following incident investigations 7. Hazard Mitigation & Risk Prioritization Identify and mitigate major site risks with focus on: Working at height Vehicle-person interface Housekeeping standards
