Join our team and start your journey today! **_Employee Relations Lead – Asia Pacific Region_** **_Location: China_** **_Reports to: Employee Relations Director_** **Job Summary** The Employee Relations Lead – APAC is the primary point of contact for Employee Relations (ER) matters across the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on China, Thailand, and the Philippines. This role ensures consistent application of ER policies, professional handling of workplace issues, and strong partnerships with HR and site leadership. The Lead plays a hands-on role in resolving complex ER cases, supporting performance improvement, and ensuring compliance with local employment and labor laws. This includes addressing region-specific labor/industrial relations issues such as union strategy, statutory consultation procedures, and other ER-related regulatory or socio-political considerations, in partnership with Legal and local HR where appropriate. In locations without dedicated ER staff, the Lead partners with Business-Facing HR to deliver hybrid support to resolve ER cases. This role works closely with the global ER COE to implement standardized processes, ensure accurate case tracking, and contribute regional insights to global initiatives. This is a high-impact opportunity for a motivated, independent expert ready to lead transformation across a complex, multi-country environment. **Key Responsibilities** + Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk ER matters across China, Thailand, the Philippines, and other APAC countries. + Resolve ER cases professionally and consistently, ensuring compliance with local employment and labor laws. + Support labor/industrial relations strategy across the region, including union engagement, worker committee processes, and required consultation protocols under local law. + Support performance improvement processes, coaching managers on appropriate documentation, expectations, and outcomes. + Partner with Business-Facing HR in countries without dedicated ER resources to deliver hybrid ER support. + Maintain strong working relationships with local HR, site leaders, and internal & external legal counsel to ensure aligned and compliant ER outcomes. + Ensure accurate and timely case documentation in ServiceNow, following global COE protocols and standards. + Monitor regional ER trends and risks, providing insights and recommendations to inform global ER strategy. + Lead the execution of the ER governance cycle across APAC, including quarterly campaigns and regional stakeholder reporting. + Adapt and implement global ER processes and tools to suit regional needs while maintaining alignment with global standards. + Contribute regional expertise to global policy reviews, tool development, and process improvement initiatives. **Qualifications:** + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. + **Experience:** + 7+ years of experience in employee relations or HR, including regional or global support experience. + 5+ years of employee relations or HR experience in China. + 3+ years managing complex employee relations cases required. + Experience working in a centralized Employee Relations delivery model preferred. + **Skills:** Strong leadership and delegation skills, excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, team leadership experience, and expertise in handling escalated cases and performance improvement processes. + Proficiency in English and Mandarin required; additional languages based on region are a plus (e.g., Thai, Tagalog). **Additional Requirements:** + Knowledge of regional labor laws, experience with metrics and reporting, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Willingness to travel regionally within APAC and occasionally globally as needed to support sites and stakeholders. + Ability to work across time zones and cultural contexts. **Preferred Location:** + Suzhou, China / Shanghai, China / Remote, China **Our Commitment to Our People** Across the globe, we are united by a singular Purpose: Sustainability is no small ambition.
