We are hiring a Regional Clinical Reimbursement Specialist to join our team in Rhode Island!
This is an on-site position with weekly pay. Must reside in Rhode Island or be local.

The regional clinical reimbursement specialist provides support and coverage assistance related to MDS and the clinical reimbursement process throughout our skilled nursing facilities. Athena manages five nursing homes in Woonsocket, Newport, Providence, and East Providence.
Education and Experience:
+ Must have a current and active RN license in the state.
+ Three to five years' experience in long-term care preferred, specifically in nursing management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Provide oversight and guidance to MDS personnel.
+ Audit assessments for incorrect coding and make modifications as needed.
+ Offer ongoing education and training, including onboarding of new MDS personnel.
+ Conduct quarterly reviews of MDS assessments and admissions/discharges.
+ Review care plans.
+ Review Medicare PPS assessments.
+ Conduct monthly reviews of Medicare assessment scheduling, including unscheduled OBRA assessments.
+ Compete on-site visits monthly.
+ Support MDS teams if vacancy.
+ Review each facility RUG/PDPM/CMI reports to evaluate distribution and identify trends.
Specific Requirements:
+ Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
+ Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
+ Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
+ Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.
+ Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
+ Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
+ Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills.
+ Must be familiar with drug actions and interactions.
+ Must have knowledge of restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately.
+ Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
+ Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
+ Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergencies.
