Your Opportunity We are looking for a talented **Regional Bridge Lead** in the Western Canada area who wants to be part of a purpose-driven organization that is focused on helping our clients, colleagues, and communities thrive. This position is an integral part of our Canada West leadership team where you will be responsible for strengthening and growing our bridge practice made up of more than 60 talented bridge engineering and design professionals across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. You will leverage your bridge engineering expertise, industry and market knowledge, strategic planning skillset, and broad leadership capabilities to: + lead the pursuit and delivery of exciting bridge projects that transform our communities and inspire our people; + facilitate strengthened collaboration and workload sharing across our Western Canada bridge engineering teams; + advance technical delivery excellence in our bridge practice; + respond to interdisciplinary project resourcing needs from the bridge sector; + steward a supportive and high performance culture that values belonging, values feedback, celebrates shared success, and embraces ambition. Reporting directly to the Regional Business Leader, you will play a pivotal role in translating our Canada West strategy into actionable initiatives for the Bridge Sector, closely collaborating to align resources, technical capabilities, and business growth objectives. The Regional Bridge Lead is a highly collaborative role working closely with Business Centre Leaders, Sector Leaders, Key Account Managers, Team Leads, business developers, project managers, and peers across Stantec’s other Business Lines to identify and win strategic pursuits and foster bridge team collaboration to leverage our diverse talent and subject matter expertise across North America. This position can be filled from anyone located in British Columba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or the Yukon. Relocation support may be available. This position is also eligible for a hybrid work model, in-person presence is required at one of our offices across Western Canada at least 3 days per week. We support flexibility in how and where work gets done, while recognizing the importance of in-person collaboration for leadership, mentorship, and team engagement. It is the expectation that all leadership roles have a maximum term of 5-years, with the opportunity to reevaluate at the end of the term and for the purpose of succession and company growth. Your Key Responsibilities + You identify and lead the pursuit of regionally strategic bridge projects across Western Canada in collaboration with Business Center Practice Leaders, Bridge Team Leads, Key Account Managers, and business developers. + You are a liaison between local bridge teams, Business Center Leaders, and the North American Bridge Sector to leverage the sector's technical skills in a fit for purpose manner with our pursuits and projects. + You reinforce our brand and market position as a leader within the bridge sector through active participation in industry organizations, thought leadership, and effective communication with strategic clients, and + You provide leadership to our bridge professionals across western Canada. This is a seller-doer position where you can expect to spend about a third of your time dedicated to sector leadership and the remainder focused on project delivery. This balance may shift over time based on team growth and the evolving needs of strategic initiatives. Growth Responsibilities + You're responsible for developing, managing, and leading implementation of the annual business plan for the Regional Bridge Sector by leveraging your understanding of the industry drivers, market trends, legislative requirements in Western Canada to support and grow our bridge portfolio. + You directly engage in the development and maintenance of relationships between Stantec, strategic partners, and clients to expand business opportunities. + You provide appropriate oversight, guidance, review, coaching, and quality control on bridge opportunities pursued within Western Canada to achieve sales and competitive capture rate objectives. + You conduct risk management related to pursuits including review of contracts, fees, and proposals in coordination with other leaders and our risk management team. + You partner with other Bridge Leads, BCPLs, and leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and business lines. + You maintain knowledge and inventory of our past and current bridge project portfolio and talent experience in Western Canada to facilitate the effective pursuit of new clients and opportunities. + You lead participation in regional and national industry groups to advance the Stantec brand and maximize exposure of Stantec’s subject matter experts through activities such as Technical Papers and Presentations, articles for association conference periodicals, peer-reviewed publications, blogs for associations, committee participation where available and appropriate. + You support the advancement of our Strategic Growth Opportunities with Federal Accounts, Smart(er) Mobility, and Program Management/Construction Management. Excellence Responsibilities + You contribute to our North America Bridge Sector Team to implement our strategy across the continent and bring services and specialists from the broader Stantec organization to our clients. + You work closely with sector leaders, practice leaders, project managers, and account managers to leverage internal resources and match them up with projects and pursuits where they can bring value. + You engage in delivery of bridge projects as a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise, industry best practices, and new or innovative technologies. + You consistently demonstrate a commitment to the Health and Safety culture within Stantec. + You support the advancement of collaboration with our Global Delivery Centre colleagues to strengthen our capacity and value offering to our clients in Western Canada. + You provide technical assistance in resolving complex problems and decision making on projects. People Responsibilities + You help recruit, retain, and inspire a team of bridge engineering, design, and construction professionals at multiple levels with exceptional technical skills. + You identify strategic hires for the bridge sector, and work collaboratively with other leaders to successfully recruit and retain these candidates. + You undertake workforce planning in collaboration with BC Leaders to inform workforce needs for our bridge sector in each of our business centers across Western Canada. Innovation Responsibilities + You identify how technology changes affect our clients and our business with specific consideration to the bridge sector. + You remain appraised of modification to established guidelines and lead the initiation of new approaches to respond to industry research and best practices. Your Capabilities and Credentials + A track record of establishing and maintaining bridge sector client relationships across Western Canada. + Strong ability to develop business and promote business relationships. + Strong ability to motivate staff and promote teamwork within and across offices. + Excellent organization, coordination, management, and leadership skills. + Proven project management and technical skills applicable to delivering bridge projects + Results oriented individual who excels in a multi-disciplinary environment. + Strong project planning and delivery experience. + Excellent verbal and written communication. + Expert level understanding of codes and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions. + Ability to lead, participate, and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues and solutions to others Education and Experience + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering or related field + Licensed Professional Engineer + Minimum of 12 years of experience. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
