*D.R. Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for a*_Region Purchasing Manager_*. The right candidate will support region management and all divisions in a geographical region to achieve the goals and projections established by senior corporate management. Develop a long-term, sustainable, loyalty-based partnership with strategic and key suppliers.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Ensure alignment between corporate, region, division and purchasing goals
* Promote active engagement within the divisions to understand and achieve corporate and region’s vision and objectives. Formulate strategic directives for purchasing in order to develop regional strategy in-line with business objectives
* Oversee the Construction Scheduling Process
* Implement operational best practices in the region
* Obtain and review market information within the region, by division, for effective purchasing decisions
* Oversee the utilization of new construction technologies aimed at continually driving efficiencies in the business
* Procure regional deals for products and labor that can achieve lower cost of sales, greater incentives, price protection, extended warranties, and performance requirements for vendors
* Train division purchasing managers within the region on effective negotiating, cost analysis, process improvement, and budget management
* Work with division purchasing teams to identify training and development needs
* Develop purchasing and logistic strategies within the geographic region as well as operational systems that are consistent between divisions
* Identify alternate sourcing opportunities for cost savings and/or quality enhancement
* Identify and help resolve issues within the divisions
* Report to region and division management on the status of each division’s purchasing operations and the impact of purchasing
* Monitor and ensure the completion of tracking rebates and cost of sales by division
* Organize annual IT and purchasing summit meetings
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

*Education and/or Experience*
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Six to eight years of related experience and/or training
* Advanced knowledge of sourcing and purchasing techniques and understanding changing markets
* Ability to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
* Effective negotiating skills
* Strong people management and interpersonal skills with experience in building teams and business relationships
* Ability to focus under pressure and comfortable meeting tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to deliver effective and engaging presentations
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email
* Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision

*Preferred Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
* J.D. Edward experience a plus
*Compensation*
* Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000, depending on qualifications and experience
