Position Highlights: + Schedule: Monday-Friday (no weekends, holiday pay available) + Hours: 8:00-4:30pm + Location: New Horizons (Ankeny, Iowa) Responsibilities of the Recreation Therapy Specialist: + Lead and facilitate daily programming as outlined by the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). + Promote engagement in meaningful activities that support psychosocial well-being and life skills. + Provide individualized neurocognitive and neurobehavioral support. + Implement de-escalation strategies as needed. + Maintain professional relationships with persons served, families, and team members. + Collaborate with CTRS on program planning and adapt activities as needed. + Complete documentation and communicate relevant updates to the care team.
