Summary This position is located at the Ansbach Outdoor Recreation Center. Responsibilities Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities. Such activities include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips. Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment. Prepares standard operating procedures. Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses. Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience. Highly Preferred Possess certifications or experience leading groups in outdoor recreation activities such as climbing, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, archery, paintball, cycling, and bicycle maintenance.
