This position is part of a three-member team in the agency and works in collaboration to perform research on brand applications. The work this position completes allows the agency to perform its statutorily mandated responsibilities. Human Resource Contact: Serenity Moffett, serenity.moffett@wyo.gov 307-777-6243 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level. + Conduct brand research, transfer, and renewals with monthly reports to all brand inspectors. + Review actions to make sure they are within statutes, policies, and rules of the agency. + Correspond with the public related to brand recording issues. + Review and process incoming mail, which includes accounting and depositing incoming funds. + Provide the current and correct information regarding brand recording and agency Brand Recording Rules and Regulations to the general public. + Assist in the planning of program elements. + Prepare and disseminate copies, reports, records, and information for distribution to brand inspectors, agency staff, industry groups, Board members, and the general public. + Assist in any needed monthly or statutory reports in the Brand Unit. + Assist in publishing the State Brand book. + Assist the Brand Commissioner and send reports as needed. + Assist with reports when called into the office and keep law enforcement officers abreast of any brand inspection changes and brand recording units. + Assist with reports when needed concerning brand violations and missing livestock. + Assist with animal identification and traceback efforts concerning brands and ownership identification for livestock and livestock producers. + Assist with surveys and public relations, both written and oral. + Assist with special projects as needed. This could include unit mailings and surveys, legal and confidential documents, assisting administration with phone coverage, and preparing newsletters and press releases when needed. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: + Competency in understanding and adhering to State Statutes and agency rules and regulations. + Experience in data entry and record management. + Outstanding oral and written communications. + Ability to work with the general public and provide great customer service. + Knowledge of basic accounting skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Records or Data Management) Experience: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Clerk OR Education & Experience Substitution: 3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Records and Data Management) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Clerk Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + This position takes place in an average work environment.
