Responsibilities\:
The Valves, Actuators, and Ducts division of the Propulsion Engineering department is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Records Manager to support documentation, tracking, and reporting processes critical to the operations of the Component Development Area (CDA). The CDA is a world-class small fabrication shop and testing laboratory supporting development and testing of space flight components and systems. The ideal candidate will play a central role in digitizing records, maintaining technical documentation, monitoring procurement workflows, and supporting financial and inventory tracking systems.
Key Responsibilities\:
Digitize Documentation\: Convert historical paper-based work orders into a digital format to improve accessibility and long-term storage.
Maintain Engineering Records\: Update and manage a collection of technical drawings and diagrams representing current piping and system configurations across the facility.
Procurement Tracking\: Monitor and record the status of all procurements from initial submittal through delivery and final vendor payment. Provide weekly updates on progress and delays.
Financial Reporting\: Update a financial tracker weekly to reflect all outstanding procurement costs, ensuring alignment with project budgets.
Inventory Support\: Collaborate with inventory personnel to implement and maintain an inventory tracking and control system.
Monthly Reconciliation\: Reconcile internal cost reporting documents with existing financial tracking spreadsheets on a monthly basis.
Activity Reporting\: Collect and compile monthly activity notes from all staff (approximately 12 employees), summarizing work completed during the previous month.

Qualifications\:
Typically, educational requirement is a High School diploma or GED or equivalent; and at least 4 years of experience or an Associate’s Degree. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate between vendors, engineers, and the Amentum Business Office. Most time in this position is spent communicating on the phone, in person, and through email. Candidate must have strong record keeping habits and be able to provide status updates on active procurements.
Required\:
Proven experience in records management, administrative coordination, or a similar operational support roleHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management tools
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments and with CDA technicians and engineers in problem resolution and work coordination
Perform training assignments including on-the-job training designed to develop professional working knowledge and abilities
Ability to work in a team environment
Safety-conscious mindset
Perform other functions as experience and operational knowledge allow

Ability to read and follow mechanical blueprints and schematics for pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
Physical Requirements\: Requires sitting for extended periods of time while working in an office environment (85%). Requires standing for shorter period of times (10%). Limited lifting or work on ladder is required (5%). Work will be performed onsite at NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center (100%). Requires use of stairs or elevators to gain access to buildings.
Work Environment\: Requires the ability to work for extended periods in a general office environment (85%) and in a shop/lab environment (15%). The shop/lab environment includes environmentally controlled spaces, high bay areas with heat only, and outside test areas exposed to the elements. Requires ability to interact effectively with co-workers, managers, and clients. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, and accurate communications, both verbally and in writing.
Equipment and Machines\: Requires ability to operate a personal computer, telephone, task related software, and other general office equipment (85%). Requires the ability to operate tools and equipment to support tasks at CDA (15%). In conjunction, all certifications to operate those tools and equipment must also be maintained through required training and yearly medical examinations.
Attendance\: Normal workday is 6\:00 am to 4\:30 pm Monday through Thursday but may be adjusted to meet customer requirements or needs of employee. Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory for meetings and other planned occasions.

Ability to communicate effectively and work under supervision is essential (100%). Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
