Record Analyst II
Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Record Analyst II for the Health Information Management department. The Record Analyst II supports health information management functions through assembly and analysis of medical records, incomplete record management, and release of information. Conemaugh Health System serves more than a half-million patients each year through the Nason Physician Group, Conemaugh Physician Group and Medical Staff, a network of four hospitals, specialty clinics and patient-focused programs. *Essential Functions:* Assembles and analyzes inpatient, emergency department, outpatient surgery, observation medical records according to established protocols. Enters, modifies, and deletes correctable record deficiencies in EHR to ensure complete and timely medical records. Interacts with hospital and medical staff to coordinate the completion of medical records and the generation of information needed for the quality improvement program. Monitors the completion rate of medical records for generating incomplete/delinquency medical record notification letters, keeping supervisor appraised of status of incomplete records. Reviews authenticity of requests for release of information and responds accordingly, providing access to or copies of appropriate sections of the medical record and accurately logging such requests in ROI software program and in the medical record. Prepares or assists in preparation of medical records and certified copies needed to respond to subpoenas and court hearings or for patient transfer to other facilities. Performs other record management duties, such as late filing, purging and imaging of patient records. *Organizational Expectations:* Promote the mission, vision, values, goals, and general policies of Nason Medical Center. Participate/attend all mandatory in services with no deviation from departmental time frames or unexcused absences. Attend departmental meetings/in services as schedules with no unexcused absences. Maintains punctuality and gives one hour notice for unscheduled absences. Gives evidence of dependability by: Infrequent and appropriate use of sick time. ____sick days during the past year. (4 or more non FMLA instances will constitute a “not met” and require a verbal warning). Gives evidence of reliability by completing all assignments in a reasonable time frame per established policies. Observes the policies of the hospital by maintaining a clean and safe work environment and performing work safely at all times with no deviation from safety policies. Promotes appropriate customer service skills by being helpful, courteous, considerate, sensitive, and compassionate to the needs of staff, patients, physicians, and visitors with whom we come in contact during the workday. Works as a team player, recognizing organization-wide needs over individual functions. Recognize your own limitations and seek help from appropriate sources when needed. Answers telephone in a timely and appropriate manner. Participate in continuing education programs as per job classification requirements. *Minimum Education:* High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical terminology required. Medical secretarial training and experience preferred. *Required Skills:* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. *Minimum Work Experience:* Data entry and typing skills.
