Summary

The Operations Manager position will support their assigned district with all operational needs. This position will ensure tasks are completed correctly, safely, and efficiently. This position will ensure seamless communication between senior leadership, operational teams, business development team and customers with a high focus on communication between field and BD team. This position will be responsible for developing supervisors and technicians as well as building and maintaining a strong culture within their district. A successful candidate will be someone with a strong track record leading teams. This candidate will have exceptional communication and leadership skills as well as strong strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

Interact and build rapport with assigned employeesTrain and develop technician’s skillsLocate and mark underground utility linesAssist with Vacuum Excavation teamsMeet with clients to discuss projects and complete projectsTroubleshoot difficult locates / Vac Projects with techniciansBuild a strong team culture by serving as a positive role modelEnsure technicians have adequate inventories/suppliesComplete JBOs in a timely manner and coach any area of concernReview technicians’ daily workload and analyze for areas of improvementThoroughly investigate damages as dispatchedEnsure policies and procedures are followedWear appropriate PPE and follow established safety procedures and policies

Requirements

3+ years of leadership experience preferred3+ years of locate experience requiredValid driver's license and safe driving record requiredAbility to exercise good judgment and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsExhibits solid leadership skillsAbility to work independently and manage time efficientlyMust be able to travel 5-15% of the timeMust be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions; outdoor experience preferredMust be able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 poundsMust be computer proficientMust be available to work overtime and some weekends (as needed)Must pass a drug screenVacuum Truck experience preferred but not requiredExperience reading CAD, GIS, & MicroStation files is a plus
