Job Summary
The Department of Recreational Services is seeking student staff to help create a welcoming and safe environment in the Recreation Center as a Front Counter Attendant starting in late August. Shifts may be days or evenings, weekdays or weekends, depending on availability.
Responsibilities*Greet patrons and assist with providing answers to questions, both in-person and via phoneAssist with providing accurate and timely information regarding memberships, programs, services, and policiesFront counter tasks including, but not limited to:Check in patrons at the member service counterManage cash registerProcess memberships, guest passes, and other salesPrepare paperwork and enter data as assigned Register patrons for a variety of programs Check out and organize sports equipment Other tasks as assignedHave an understanding of facility policies, and the ability to articulate these to students and Rec Center members/guests as neededWork closely with the Assistant Facility Supervisors (AFS) on facility concernsRequired Qualifications*Current UM-Flint studentExcellent communication skills
Desired Qualifications*Work study award for the current or upcoming academic semesterPrior customer service experienceCPR/First Aid Certification
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
