Meaningful Work From Day One

This position will report to Accounting Manager, Japan and be responsible for end-to-end rebate administration for Japan, including:
● Facilitate establishment of the new discounts management system and processes in Japan as part of own distribution RTC.
● Processing and settlement of discounts claims
● Reconciliation of discounts against customer claims and managing of disputes
● Drive continuous process improvement in discounts management & data
management capabilities.

Rebates Accountant will work closely with Rebate & Pricing Analyst to facilitate and coordinate financial reporting, and analytical activities with regards to Japan’s Direct and Indirect Customer Rebates.

What You Can Expect

● Be responsible for the overall data flow & integrity of discounts related data, including ensuring that volume and claim files have been loaded correctly.

● Ensure completion of customer claims processing, settlement, and reconciliation against negotiated terms & agreements.

● Identify & investigate discrepancies between calculated discounts against what is claimed by customers.

● Record monthly accruals and complete provision reconciliations to ensure that discounts expenses are correctly recognized in the P&L

● Effectively collaborate with the Sales team and the broader business to ensure that we receive required information, respond to queries, and address any issues.

● Liaise with the Rebate & Pricing Analyst and the broader business to facilitate effective reporting and analysis of discounts spend.

● Identifying operational issues and initiating corrective actions, clearly defining the root cause, and making recommendations as to possible solutions.

● Drive continuous process improvement in discounts processes & data management capabilities through collaboration with the IT team and the broader business.

● Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.

● Ensure that key business processes are documented and up to date.

What You Bring to the Table

● 3+ years’ experience in similar positions

● Experience in accounting and rebates

● Proven understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable

● Accounting qualifications (Accounting degree or Nissho Boki Grade 2)

● Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of data using advanced excel and database skills.

What Makes You Unique

● Experience in alcohol beverage or branded consumer products, multinational organization preferred.

● Experience with SAP, Salesforce.
