Reading Interventionist Position Type: Full-Time (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday) Position Overview The Reading Interventionist provides targeted small-group and one-on-one reading instruction to students across multiple grade levels who need additional support in foundational literacy and reading comprehension. Using SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words) and other evidence-based practices, the interventionist works closely with teachers and administrators to accelerate student growth. In addition to instructional responsibilities, the interventionist contributes to the overall success of the school by supporting supervision and other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities Provide daily reading intervention lessons across multiple grade levels using SIPPS and other school-adopted literacy practices. Deliver small-group and one-on-one support to students during designated intervention blocks. Use student assessment data (DIBELS, MAP, classroom assessments) to plan, monitor, and adjust instruction. Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional leaders to align intervention with grade-level instruction. Participate in SIPPS training and ongoing professional development. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance. Support school operations through assigned duties, including supervision during arrival, dismissal, and recess. Assist with after-school reading support and enrichment as needed. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that fosters a love of reading. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred (education or related field preferred). Experience working with elementary students in reading instruction or intervention. Familiarity with phonics-based instruction and foundational literacy; SIPPS training will be provided. Strong organizational skills and ability to use data to drive instruction.
