Responsible for learning and developing the necessary skills to competently develop insightful customised solutions, product testing and supporting customer trials. Working in partnership with customers to develop innovative new concepts as well as renovating current products. All products concepts are tailored to customer specific needs and to deliver in terms of taste, functionality and nutrition. Our RD&A team collaborates with a global network of chefs, marketing and sensory experts to deliver products to market within launch timescales. The RD&A Technologist will report to our Senior Scientist for Savoury Snack and Culinary who is based out of Brisbane, QLD.

 

Key responsibilities Responsible for product development from initiation to launch, communicating with RD&A, commercial, process engineers, quality, suppliers and manufacturing, with particular emphasis on:

       - Savoury Snack seasonings

       - Culinary dry savoury seasonings

Participate in designated RD&A projects and ensure that products developed are cost competitive and commercially viable. Ensure that good laboratory practices and lab protocols are being met. Evolves record documentation and methodology into appropriate database. Maintains laboratory, including upkeep of equipment, and general cleaning of work areas. Actively participates in quality improvement for the function. Facilitate trials and first productions of new product commercialisations. Work on Profit Improvement Project (PIP) opportunities for both Raw Material and Finished products.

 

Qualifications and skills Bachelor’s or higher degree in Food Science or related field. Strong team player, interpersonal, organizational, presentation skills and project management skills with a commitment to fulfilling customer needs. Ability to be analytical and solve complex problems, complimented with strong creative and innovative thinking skills. Ability to meet deadlines, self-managed and ability to handle multiple tasks with speed and accuracy, independently or as part of a team. Collaborate effectively with a variety of cross - functional departments.
