RBC Leadership Development Program- 2026

Job Description

What will you do? 

Each rotation will offer three, specific, challenging goals. You will have ownership and accountability from the first day in the program.Some of the tasks you may be involved with include - projects, key initiatives, strategic planning, data analysis, creating presentations, creating dashboards, regular month end or quarterly business as usual tasks etc.Based on the principle that leaders learn best from experience, you will learn about the diverse, multi-faceted, global organization of RBCYou will have challenging opportunities to grow your career and broaden your knowledge of RBC.

The ideal candidate for the Leadership Development Program is an individual who offers the following:

Currently a master's level student who will graduate before the start of the program in January or July of 2026You have 3-7 years of professional and continuous work experience.Proactive, take initiative, drive change and aim to provide solutions.Self-managed with the ability to work independently, with little direction.Proven leadership experience (i.e., at school, at work, in the community, etc.)Confident yet humble; ready to learn & grow; open and receptive to feedback.Strong communication skills; willingness to speak up and listen to diverse perspectives.Positive and can-do attitude (i.e., “what can I do for RBC?”)Collaborative; team playerAbility to handle ambiguity and deal with constant changeCuriosity and a thirst for continuous learning and innovationAptitude to embrace and leverage emerging technologies

Additional requirements for CFO and Group Risk Management streams:

CFO Group

Advanced technical skills – Excel, Financial Modeling, Tableau, VBA & MacrosInnovative and CreativeSolid understanding of accounting and financial theory, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical work environmentConsidered an asset: CPA, CFA, CA; Python; Data Analytical skills


Group Risk Management:

Analytical with strong quantitative skillsAdvanced technical skills – Financial Modeling; Macros; VBA; Python; SQL, SAS, Tableau; R; Matlab;Considered an asset: Designations FRM, CFA
