We are currently hiring a Raw Material Technician to join our Bakers facility in Monroe, North Carolina. The Raw Material Technician plays a vital role in ensuring there is a steady supply of quality raw materials to use in melt operations. This position is critical to keeping production running smoothly and meeting customer demands. In this role you will be responsible for operating the Speedway and Hydraulic Press to compact titanium sponge into titanium pucks where they will be placed in drums and delivered to our melt operations.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong attention to detail and quality control. The Raw Materials Technician will be responsible for gathering, inspecting, and delivering raw materials to production lines which creates the opportunity for quality and safety concerns. Communicating effectively with melt departments to coordinate material needs and resolve issues will be important to keep material flowing smoothly. Physical stamina for tasks like frequent stair climbing will help support operations as needed. Taking initiative to maintain a clean and organized workspace in line with department/plant certification requirements is crucial. Adaptability to computerized recordkeeping and new processes over time will also help maximize efficiency. However, the most important qualities are enjoying hands-on work, learning constantly about titanium properties, and having a drive to train colleagues to maintain the highest standards. This will ensure top quality raw materials are supplied to help ATI achieve its production goals and overall company mission.
This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off. Training will take place from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on the same rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
Additional Responsibilities
+ Assist with training departmental personnel in all phases of their work.
+ Work from mill order schedules, general instructions, or other data and information.
+ Perform assigned duties as instructed - must be able to assist in all raw materials operations.
+ Assist in maintaining all standard departmental records and similar reports.
+ Complete and pass on information regarding completed lots, inventory weight adjustments, vendor rating forms and other vital information.
+ Follow prescribed safety regulations.
+ Perform all jobs necessary to keep workflow going.
+ Work from blend instructions, use SPC charts, use weigh scales, use simple arithmetic.
+ Must be able to maintain IME certification by fulfilling all requirements.
