Description of Work Unit
Colorado State University is a large research and land grant institution. This position will support over 7,000 employees and 28,000 student commuters at our campuses in Fort Collins, Colorado. CSU Transportation is an auxiliary of Colorado State University that oversees motor vehicle parking management (over 13,000 spaces), bicycle parking management (over 18,000 spaces), fleet management, transportation infrastructure (bicycle, bus, skateboard) and transportation demand management (ridesharing, carshare, commuter education, event management). Our goal is to provide safe and accommodating access for our commuters and visitors.
Position Summary
Colorado State University Transportation seeks a dynamic, collaborativeRams Roll Program Coordinatorto lead the implementation and ongoing operations of a newly developed active transportation initiative that supports biking, scooting, and skating on campus. The Rams Roll program aims to:
+ Increase ridership of active modes of transportation.
+ Reduce theft and improve safe storage practices.
+ Streamline bike registration, impounding, and rack management.
+ Improve campus aesthetics and pedestrian safety.
+ Reduce motor vehicle congestion and parking demand.
+ Promote sustainability, wellness, access and equity in transportation.
The Rams Roll Program Coordinator will report to the Associate Director of Active Transportation and will be responsible for managing day-to-day functions, overseeing student staff, coordinating outreach and education, managing bike parking infrastructure, and building partnerships to make active transportation safer, more accessible, and more convenient for the CSU community.
Note: For all parts below, the word “bicycle” or “bike” is used generically to also include kick scooter, electric scooter, electric bicycle, tricycle, electric tricycle, skateboard, electric skateboard, and any other personal transportation device that may ride or park on the CSU campus.
Specifically, this position will:
+ Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the Rams Roll Program, including education, operations, and coordination.
+ Oversee bike registration in collaboration with local law enforcement and partner agencies. Order, inventory and manage the distribution of registration incentives (e.g., U-locks, cables, lights) to encourage compliance and deter theft.
+ Supervise the student team responsible for Ram Welcome bike registration, rack patrols, parking education, bike rack snow removal and impound procedures.
+ Coordinate bike/scooter/skateboard rack management, including routine rack utilization data collection, condition assessments, relocations, and maintenance.
+ Lead education and outreach initiatives around theft prevention, proper parking, safe riding, and university policy.
+ Collaborate with CSU departments including the CSU Transportation, Police Department, Housing and Dining Services, and Departments of Central Receiving, as well as external entities such as FC Moves and Fort Collins Police Services.
+ Track and report program data (registrations, impounds, thefts, parking demand, outreach metrics) to guide future planning and funding decisions.
This position is key for advancing CSU’s sustainability and mobility goals by encouraging non-motorized travel and improving the user experience for those who choose to bike, scoot, or skate around campus.
Required Job Qualifications
+ High School Diploma/ GED
+ Two (2) or more years of full-time equivalent professional work experience in related field.
+ Experience leading teams or student employees.
+ Experience working with a variety of people from a variety of backgrounds to gather needed information and solve problems.
+ Experience using computers, smartphones, and knowledge of software programs and applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Skill organizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
+ One (1) or more years working in multi-modal transportation, sustainability or related field.
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Business Administration (Marketing / Sales), Hospitality, Engineering, Sustainability or other field related to Transportation Demand Management or equivalent work experience.
+ Experience in higher education or campus-based programs.
+ Experience working with diverse populations and audiences
+ Familiarity with micro-mobility, bike registration systems, and/or transportation behavior change initiatives.
+ Demonstrated mastery through specific work experience examples with the following software applications: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook.
+ Proficiency in data management and performance reporting.
+ Experience working with ArcGIS Field Maps for asset management, data collection and analysis.
+ Ability to work autonomously with success in meeting goals, priorities, and deadlines.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Experience providing clear direction, teaching, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating both students and professional staff.
+ Experience serving as the front-facing representative of a program or organization.
+ General knowledge of bicycles, bicycle mechanics, and bicycle repair.
+ Experience working cooperatively with law enforcement agencies.
+ Bicycle education instructor certification from the League of American Bicyclists and/or CyclingSavvy.

+ Launch and manage the Rams Roll Program, ensuring all components operate effectively and align with university transportation and sustainability goals.
+ Coordinate with a cross-university team with representatives from CSU Police Department, Housing and Dining Services and the Departments of Central Receiving (The Spoke, Surplus Property) as well as up to 8 student employees to support registration, education and outreach, rack monitoring, and data collection.
+ Oversee use of the bike registration system and coordinate incentive distribution (locks, cables, lights).
+ Manage impounding and rack management operations in collaboration with CSU Police, Housing and Dining and the Departments of Central Receiving (Surplus) and CSU Transportation.

+ Collaborate with Active Transportation and The Spoke staff to support educational events and maintenance services.
