Our company encourages diversity and inclusion in all its forms while our products make the world a more beautiful, safer, and sustainable home (http://bit.ly/purpose-sgna) . **_What’s the job?_** Employees will be responsible for the working in the trailer loading operation which includes operating a forklift, handling inventory, working in & around semi-trailers, understanding the safe movement of traffic in & out of the trailer loading area, and the securing of trailers for loading. **Shift:** 3rd (11pm-7am) **Compensation:** $21.00/hour **Primary Duties:** + Understand Pedestrian & Mobile Equipment safety in the work area + General housecleaning of the work area + Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner + Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules + Able to understand and apply all safety procedures + Understand and follow all SOPs related to the Distribution Take Off operations + Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures + Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs + Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders + Proper use of necessary PPE required in the Plant work areas + Proper transport and stacking of board in a safe and productive manner + Ensuring risers are removed from all bays when empty + Operation of propane powered forklifts to load, unload, transport and stack materials + Completion of pre –shift / walk around inspections of forklifts + Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as cleaning, lubricating, fueling or replacing propane tanks. + Proper placement of risers on board units in the warehouse + Complete rail car prep work & final load security, which includes working at heights. + Complete inventory security in the bagging process. + Trained to operate rail car tug, which includes work in the yard moving rail cars. + Understand safety procedures on moving rail cars in & out of the loading area. + Understand all safety procedures associated with rail loading operation. + Ability to handle rail bags and secure rail bags during the bagging process. + Complete as instructed all other job assignments that are issued by Distribution Team Leader + Previous Industrial Powered Vehicle experience a plus. + Warehouse and shipping experience a plus. + Ability to handle (lift, push, pull) up to 50lbs. + High school education or equivalent + Strong communication skills + Could be reassigned and required to perform other duties as requested + Assist in any duties deemed necessary for Successful Department Performance **Requirements:** + High School Diploma (preferred) + Excellent team working skills + Previous Industrial Powered Vehicle experience a plus. + Warehouse and shipping experience a plus. + Strong communication skills **WORKING CONDITIONS** + Ability to work overtime as needed for business. + Ability to work in office or warehouse setting, including various climate environments + Ability to work in warehouse floor elements, including dust, noise & odors + Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance + Ability and willingness to work overtime as required **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** + Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats + Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds At Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed, our employees have pride in belonging to an organization whose culture is made up of these core values: Trust, Empowerment, & Collaboration.
