ARRT - Radiology Technician

Job Description

As a Radiology Technician, you will be responsible for adjusting equipment to ensure proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines. You will expertly position patients for anatomical views using necessary immobilization and protective equipment and accurately process images for optimal quality. Your role requires a strong understanding of using digitizers for x-ray interpretation, promoting the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and verifying equipment functionality. You will also be responsible for equipment maintenance, repair requisitions, and handling surgical instruments with knowledge of aseptic techniques.

ResponsibilitiesAdjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines (ALARA).Position patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.Accurately process images for optimal quality and demonstrate acceptable film quality standards.Understand and demonstrate knowledge of using digitizers for x-ray interpretation.Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.Verify equipment functions properly and requisition for equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement.Function independently without constant supervision and effectively perform essential radiology technician functions.Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure medical equipment is working properly.Demonstrate knowledge of care and handling of surgical instruments.Execute aseptic techniques.Convey written and verbal information accurately and effectively.Essential SkillsARRT Certified in Radiologic TechnologyBLS certificationKnowledge of general surgery, imaging, electronic health records, and customer serviceProven communication skillsWork Environment

You will work Monday through Friday from 7am to 4:30pm, with flexibility according to your availability. The main location is in Overland Park, off College Boulevard, with potential float opportunities to satellite offices in Lees Summit. The environment is laid-back, and mileage reimbursement is offered for locations outside the main office.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $74880.00/yr.
