Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** **General Statement of Duties:** The Tech Assistant/Aide is an integral member of Imaging Services team efforts toward maximizing efficiency in throughput of patients, while providing excellence in service. Under limited supervision, and with a high level of initiative, assists technologists with patient preparation for diagnostic testing, and acts as a workflow facilitator. From Patient Access through procedures, directly manages patients in each stage of the procedure process. This includes support in area maintenance, patient handling, procedure setups, clerical, technical, and support processes. Customer service and detail oriented, this team member must acclimate to defined expectations with minimal deviation from established practices. Hospital based safety practices and basic medical terminology, are taught to proficiency, and will apply to everyday practice in order to perform assigned duties. Fully aligns with HCA Mission, behavioral standards, and values. **What you will do in this Role:** * Facilitates patient workflow from Patient Access Points to procedure areas: CT/MR/IR/US/NM • ED and ICU Transports and others as needed, proficient in patient transfer techniques • Access Forms prep for each pt. • Run OP schedules, sort IP requests • Acts as liaison and escort between wait rooms and procedure areas • Assists with managing patients according to schedules, explaining delays, ensuring comfort, etc. • Enters transport requests as directed to assist with maximizing efficiency, etc. • Review questionnaires for completeness • Changes patients appropriately for procedure • Ensures patient dignity and privacy during all interactions with patient • Escorts patients between buildings as needed for procedures. • Manages patient families- reports time frames, delays, ETA for discharge etc in order to allow techs and nurses to remain in direct attendance to the patient. • Relays communications from Tech to indicated recipients. • Lends support to XRAY and NUC MED when needed for pt. management, transfer assistance, etc. • Ensures trackers are launched, and enters start/end times as appropriate * Various other duties **Qualifications** + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + High School Graduate / GED Methodist Hospital opened in 1963 as the first hospital in the now internationally acclaimed South Texas Medical Center.
