Radiology Receptionist and Administrative Assistant

Location: Fitzwilliam Hospital - Peterborough

Hours: Part Time - 20 Hours per week Fixed Term Contract 12 months

Shifts: Shifts will be spread over 4 x days and include 2 x Saturdays per month.

Salary - Depending on experience + Benefits

The role:

We have a great new opportunity for an experienced enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiology Administrative Assistant to join our team at Fitzwilliam Hospital in Peterborough.

The successful candidate will assist a multi-disciplinary team to provide exemplary patient administration within the radiology department, providing an efficient bookings service and operating within set protocols in a post that is both interesting and varied.  You should have the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including covering for colleagues during absence and annual leave.

Duties include:

Undertake general Receptionist duties e.g. answering the phone, liaising with patients and other hospital staffAbility to use Microsoft packageUnderstanding of using e-mail systemsRegister and book patients onto hospital RIS and Maxims computer systemUse of ERS to accept and process referralsVerify patient insurance details and update on hospital system where requiredDeal with patients accounts with reference to daily billing and provision of correct codesInvestigate issues around billing and rectify in liaison with Finance departmentDeal with patient account enquiriesMaintains systems in orderly mannerDevelops new systems if required in liaison with Radiology Manager

Skills/ Attributes:

Good standard of Education GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)Demonstration of good verbal interaction with customers face to face and by phoneAbility to work in a fast paced environmentComputer literateUses initiative to prioritise and multi task effectivelyEffective working with people at all levelsStrong interpersonal skills
