Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as receptionist and monitor and modify transportation workflow, responsible for maintaining x-ray files, patient confidentiality, assisting in directing appropriate calls to the departments and Radiologists and organizing the workflow of transportation trips.

Requires a high school level of knowledge in order to utilize
computer (CRT) and filing systems, and to communicate effectively with people.
III. Essential Job Functions
Organizes the film or CD delivery and pick up from all areas of the department and hospital, and responsible for the retrieval of films from off-site warehouse. Monitors, manages and directs transportation trips utilizing the transportation command center in ConnectCare. Scans documents into ConnectCare system. Burns CD’s or prints films and images as requested. Signs out films or CDs as requested, following “Authorization to Disclose Health Information” policy. Prepares films or CDs for mailing. Retrieves films from all areas of the hospital. Uses the computer system and PACS to verify the patient’s identification number. Answers calls to Radiology and directs calls as requests to appropriate areas. Monitors and re-faxes reports from the Failed Fax report. Faxes Radiology reports as requested. Digitizes outside images, films, or CDs into PACS. Notifies the departmental Chief Technologist or Administrative Director and designated repair personnel for malfunctioning equipment. Maintains confidentiality of the patient’s protected health information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Completes assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation; demonstrates flexibility to fluctuation in work load. Professionally interacts and exchanges information with physicians, technologist, physician offices, hospital staff and patients. Maintains organized work atmosphere.
