Radiologic Technologist
Position: Radiologic Technologist
Status: Full-Time (40 hours per
week)
Pay: $30-$40 per hr DOE
Three Rivers Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team. We offer a competitive salary, flexible and block scheduling and on-site sleep rooms. The Radiologic Technologist position will perform procedures
on patients of all ages, according to approved protocols, radiation safety, and
established exam indicators. The
technologist will obtain patient histories and evaluate the appropriateness of
requested exams to assist radiologists. The
right individual will maintain knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies
pertinent to high quality exams.
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
•
Prepares and positions patients for x-rays and selects exposure factors accurately.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable).
• Revenue Management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
• Performs ordered procedures according to subspecialty protocols and procedures, ensuring that optimum exams are acquired in an efficient and timely manner.
• Draws blood samples for processing and obtains IV access for administration of contrast.
• Responds to all patient care according to facility’s policies and procedures for patient care including, but not limited to, Patient Safety-Zero Harm, Two-Patient Identifiers, Lock-down Procedures, Code Blue Preparedness, Universal Precautions, Radiation Safety Standards and CPR.
• Keeps accurate and updated documentation of medications (contrast) on inventory and medications (contrast) utilized
• Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Prevents patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
• Performs patient assessment and communicates actively with healthcare team. Completes all required documentation related to patient, procedure, and exam charges.
• Adapts imaging methodology using approved modifications and communication with physician as needed.
• Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
• Establishes a clean, orderly, safe and professional work environment. Reports equipment malfunctions in a timely manner and actively assists in arranging repairs following established process.
• Attend scheduled in-services and attend periodic continuing education.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property.
• Able to respond to needs of facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when on call.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education: Graduation
from an accredited radiologic technology program is required. Associate degree
is preferred. Proficient in CT or Mammography.
Licensure: Current
WY license or a temporary license upon hire and Current National Registry
(ARRT) required. Current Basic Life
Support certification preferred.
Work
Experience: Minimum
of 1 years of experience in the medical imaging setting preferred
