Job Overview:
The Radiology Technologist performs quality diagnostic x-ray exams to all patient populations of the hospital for purposes of medical interpretation. X-ray exams are done in the X-ray Department, portably throughout the facility and in the OR.
The Radiology Technologist will also be asked to lift, assist and transport patients, perform data entry for exam tracking and patient charging and other departmental duties as assigned.

Minimum of 2 years of radiology technician experienceCertifications and Licenses Required:
New Jersey license - Department of Environmental Protection for Radiologic TechnologyAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) Certification EligibleBasic Life Support BLS through the American Heart AssociationScheduling Requirements:
Shift working, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 7:30am-3:30pm; Tuesday 4pm-12amPart-time (PT)Essential Functions:
Demonstrate working knowledge of exam protocols including prep, positioning, safety, technique, processing and image labelingOperate radiology equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Keep room and equipment clean and in good order Report all equipment malfunctions to supervisorProduce high-quality radiographs including proper positioning, markers, shielding, technique and image qualityTrack status of exams to completion using RISDemonstrate working knowledge of order entry system and accurately place ordersPerform necessary QA and record-keeping functions routinely or as assignedEffectively communicate exam instructions to patients, answer questions and allay anxietyUse translation system when neededAchieve IV Contrast Administrative competence if desired (required fro CT and MRI techs) and MRI tec and safely administers contrast mediaTransport patients from holding area to exam rooms and to and/or from ER when necessaryAssist with transport of patient from unit to/from the Radiology departmentOperate equipment in surgical suiteObserve sterile precautionsAnticipate needs of surgeonUtilize PACS and CR system and enter accurately identified and labeled images of patientsRetrieve old images and films, when necessarySupervise radiology students and perform evaluations when necessaryBenefits and Perks:
