The Ericsson Radio Product Team is responsible for all aspects of development of the next generation radio products: systemization, design, integration, and verification of multi-standard radios. This position is for our Radio Product Systems and Integration Organization which works on radio systemization and integrating hardware and software designs to validate the performance and functionality of new radio products.

The Radio System Developer will develop the radio products that will take Ericsson and our customers forward into 5G. The position is integral in the design, integration, test, and manufacturing of our radio products. Interacting with our hardware, software, integration, verification, and factory teams, you will lead the systemization of new radio products and support the implementation throughout the project. In addition, there is a strong ask for flexibility to be able to work hands on in the lab and help with radio hardware/software integration activities needed in the project and driving the execution of those activities across many radio design teams including hardware design and software design as well as other design teams outside of radio if applicable.

You will: Be part of an exciting journey starting with requirements derived from customer requests into a phase of study and requirement break-downWork with a group of hardworking developers in various systemization tasksAllocate and break-down requirements into lower-level design blocks (Filter Unit, PA, receiver, transmit chain, Antenna)Perform analysis and final calculation of specifications (filter rejection, link budgets, power budgets, thermal analysis, interface definition)Provide support for radio integration, performance verification and test result analysis Analyze new product design and its performance requirementsTroubleshoot radio solutions to identify design or performance shortcomingsPrepare lab environment including both hardware and software componentsDefine test coverage required for integration and describe how it will be performedImplement test and validation methods for efficient integration coverage and develop all calibration and performance optimization proceduresDefine robustness and stress test required for new productAnalyze results and drive radio updates, perform error detection, and report findingsWork collaboratively with the design teams to define integration activities needed for each radio project (eg board bring up, carrier activation, closed loop DPD, feature integration).  


To be successful in the role you must have:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working directly with radio products (systemization, hardware design, integration, or test).B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. degree in a relevant area, or equivalent experience Demonstrated background in the system design and/or hardware design of radios or major radio components such as power amplifiers, filters, transceivers, antennas.Analytic mentality, high capacity, result oriented and ability to deliver under pressureBackground in communications theory and digital signal processingKnowledge of 3GPP specifications, especially in Radio performance characteristicsExperience in the development and analysis of simulations, knowledge of simulation environments like ADS and/or MATLAB is an assetAbility to multi-task, meet time frames and manage different tasks at the same timeExperience with basic lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters and power suppliesEnergy and drive to thrive in a dynamic product development environmentStrong interpersonal skills, including some team leadership experienceExcellent English skills, both verbal and written, providing effective communication building positive relationships internally as well as externally

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, 3-5 personal days (depending on role), 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and unlimited sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
