Radio Filter Design Engineer
Join our Team

At Ericsson, we design and deliver the building blocks of mobile connectivity. As an RF Filter Design Engineer, you will focus on the research, design, and development of high-performance filters that are critical to the functionality of our radio products. You’ll work with a team of world-class RF engineers to ensure that our filters meet stringent requirements for insertion loss, selectivity, power handling, and linearity — all while balancing cost, size, and manufacturability.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of mobile communications with solutions that support 5G and beyond.

What You Will Do:

Design and optimize RF filters (e.g., cavity, ceramic, SAW/BAW, LTCC, dielectric) for wireless communication systemsPerform electromagnetic simulations and circuit-level modeling using tools like HFSS, CST, ADS, or equivalentValidate filter performance through prototyping and lab measurements (e.g., using VNA, spectrum analyzer, PIM tester)Collaborate with system architects, RF designers, mechanical engineers, and suppliers to ensure filter integration within the radio unitSupport DVT, reliability testing, and failure analysis for filter-related issuesDrive technology innovation in miniaturized and high-selectivity filtering techniquesPrepare technical documentation including design reports, tuning procedures, and production specificationsSupport qualification and industrialization of filters with external partnersWhat you will do Master’s degree or above in RF/Microwave Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related disciplineStrong theoretical understanding of passive RF filter design principles and transmission line theoryHands-on experience designing filters for base stations, mobile devices, or RF modulesProficient in EM and circuit simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, ADS, AWR)Skilled in using RF lab instruments including VNA, spectrum analyzer, and PIM measurement systemsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailGood teamwork, communication, and documentation skills in a collaborative environmentFluent in English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with high-power RF filters, multi-band filters, or tunable filtersFamiliarity with manufacturing processes for cavity, ceramic, or LTCC filtersKnowledge of 3GPP specifications and radio performance requirementsExperience working with external suppliers or ODMsMaster’s degree or above in RF/Microwave Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related disciplineStrong theoretical understanding of passive RF filter design principles and transmission line theoryHands-on experience designing filters for base stations, mobile devices, or RF modulesProficient in EM and circuit simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, ADS, AWR)Skilled in using RF lab instruments including VNA, spectrum analyzer, and PIM measurement systemsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailGood teamwork, communication, and documentation skills in a collaborative environmentFluent in English, both written and spoken
