A caregiver in this position works Days, from 6:00am—5:00pm.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide care and delivery of radiation therapy to both adult and pediatric patients. 

Are proficient in advanced therapy delivery systems such as Gamma Knife, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy and Total Body Irradiation techniques. 

Monitor and document patient’s condition and report any adverse reactions.  

Coordinate treatment delivery with acute care patients (ICU, NICU, and PICU).  


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from a School of Radiation Therapy Technology approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEA) or be registry eligible. 

Board certified Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), R.T.(R)(T) (ARRT) in good standing. 

Current state licensure if required by law in the state in which you are employed. 

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association (AHA). 

Experience with radiation oncology specific electronic medical record as well as record and verify. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Experience with external radiation therapy, IMRT, IGRT and CT simulation.

Physical Requirements:

Requires ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping, reaching and lifting.

Requires ability to lift materials weighing up to 35 lbs.

Requires ability to push/pull over 100 lbs.

Requires dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions.

Requires Safe Operating Procedure for x-ray generating equipment.

Requires ability to work the hours of operation - flexible.

Requires ability to take "call" on weekdays and weekends based on a rotational schedule.

Requires ability to float to other CCHS facilities when needed.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
