In this role you will get to:
Perform a variety of technical procedures involving the use of high-energy radiation producing equipment. Responsible for administering, simulating and recording radiation treatments to patients of all ages as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist while maintaining confidentiality. Provides daily patient contact for monitoring the effects of radiation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Preparation:
• Greet and prepare patients for radiation therapy sessions.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and address any concerns
or questions.
• Position patients accurately according to treatment plans.
2. Treatment Administration:
• Operate radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
• Deliver prescribed doses of radiation to the targeted area, ensuring
precision and accuracy.
• Monitor patients during treatment for any adverse reactions and
provide appropriate care.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with other radiation oncology professionals to develop
and implement treatment plans.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of treatment sessions and
patient progress.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing
support and education as needed.
4. Equipment Performance Checks:
• Perform regular quality assurance checks on radiation therapy
equipment.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the
appropriate personnel.
5. Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards to ensure a
safe treatment environment.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in radiation therapy
techniques and technologies.

Graduate of an approved radiation therapist program.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:Qualifications:
•Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or a related
field.
•Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
(ARRT) in Radiation Therapy.
•State licensure as required.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
•Current CPR certification.
