Sentara is hiring a Radiation Therapist at Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk Virginia. This position will float to support local hospitals in Norfolk, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Overview

Job Description

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:

•    Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
•    Deliver brachytherapy treatment
•    Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and

protection devices
•    Reviewing patient records for accuracy 
•    Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
•    Maintaining patient records, reports, and files

All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire. 

Education

Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

Required to pass boards within 6-months of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire
