Job Title: Radiation Protection Professionals - Submarines

Working Pattern: 37 hours days

Working location: Derby Raynesway  

Salary range:  up to £ 74145 PA plus benefits depending on experience

We are looking for experienced Radiation Protection Professionals to join our growing team at Rolls-Royce Submarines in support of current operations as well as our exciting new build programmes.   If you are a Radiation Protection Adviser, Radioactive Waste Adviser or Health Physicist we would love to hear from you.  

Joining the Rolls-Royce Radiation Protection function offers the opportunity to work with a great team of people across a variety of radiological areas, including alpha facilities, radiography and test reactors as well as support to the operational submarine programme.

What you will be doing:

Depending on your level of experience, you will have the opportunity to get involved in the following types of work:

Providing advice and guidance to our operational nuclear facilitiesGuiding project teams to develop our future nuclear facilitiesDesigning and delivering radiological trainingAssessing radiological hazards and designing control measuresOther radiological work such as radioactive waste management, Class 7 Dangerous Goods advice, emergency response

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

Completed a STEM based degree or have an equivalent level of experience in the nuclear sectorRadiation Protection Adviser (RPA) or Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) certification or experience working as a senior Health Physicist.Experience of working in radiological environments, ideally within the nuclear industryExcellent communication skills in both verbal and written formsMotivation to develop your own career and support the wider radiation protection team

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL
