Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technician Assistant, Nashville
Nashville Veterinary Specialists in Nashville, TN is looking to add a Veterinary Technician Assistant to our Radiation Oncology team! 

Anticipated Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts. 7a-5p

Compensation:

Range is $17-24 commensurate with experience

Position Responsibilities: 

Client Communication & Coordination: 
Handle client interactions including obtaining patient history, addressing post-radiation questions, scheduling appointments/procedures, and reviewing discharge instructions. Collaborate with the scheduling coordinator and check department voicemails/emails regularly. 

Patient Care & Handling: 
Responsible for safe patient handling and restraint, transporting patients, removing IVCs, basic grooming, and assisting with radiographs, anesthesia induction, and CT procedures. 

Medication & Diagnostic Management: 
Process and fill prescriptions (in-hospital and external pharmacy), submit samples and diagnostics (X-ray, CT) to labs, and assist the oncologist during appointments and lab follow-ups. 

Inventory & Restocking: 
Maintain stock of general supplies and bandage cart, restock wet table, endotracheal tubes, IVC, lab, and other clinical items as needed. 

End-of-Day & Facility Maintenance: 
Perform closing duties including cleaning exam and linac areas, sanitizing equipment (e.g., endotracheal tubes, hand sinks), operating OPS laundry, and cleaning runs/cages post-discharge. 

Experience: At least 1+ year(s) of animal handling experience 

Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.

While performing the duties of any of these positions, the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen; may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms. The employee is often required to lift and carry animals weighing fifty pounds or more; handle dogs weighing up to 150 pounds.
