Radiation Oncology RN - PDP
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** PDP variable days morning shift. rotate between 730a-4p or 830a-5pm **_What you will do:_** Per Diem: variable days rotate between 730am-4pm or 830am-5pm **What you will do:** *Establishes and maintains ongoing communication with the Radiation Oncologist throughout the procedure to facilitate patient safety, treatment and diagnosis * Establishes and maintains ongoing communication with patient throughout the procedure to facilitate patient comfort, emotional support, reassurance and safety oasis * Assists with the development and revision of policies for invasive procedures as advancements are made within the unit. * Maintains up-to-date knowledge of procedures performed by acquiring relative continuing education, seeking learning opportunities within the field of Radiation Therapy. * Practices radiation safety according to principles of ALARA and Time, Distance, Shielding. * Establishes plan of care according to Policy and Procedure based on findings of assessment when applying for clinical ladder. * Assures equipment functions safely. Tags broken equipment and reports ay repair needs to Biomedical Engineering. Maintains ongoing safety and send work order as needed * Acknowledges that the field of Radiation is technology driven which results in high supply expense, therefore, takes care to avoid waste of duplication of procedural supplies. Has ongoing commitment to seek ways to save resources without jeopardizing quality care. * Keep abreast of current changes and trends in the health care industry **_Minimum Qualifications:_** Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing is required. * Minimum of one (1) year critical care experience is preferred. * Minimum of one (1) year Radiation experience preferred.
