The role youll contribute:
Under the direction of the Radiologist, performs CT radiologic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative to perform CT procedures and appropriate protocols for diagnosis; to include Interventional Radiology procedures with CT guidance. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Technologist may still be required to assist in X-ray in addition to CT to meet department needs. Obtain ARRT(CT) credential within 12 months of starting this role and then transition to the appropriate CT Tech job description/role.
The value youll bring to the team:
Work under the supervision of a credentialed CT or experienced CT technologist registered in another primary modality, to obtain the necessary experience to perform the exams required for ARRT CT registry. May be required to work shifts at freestanding ER with remote support of CT technologist
Performs other related duties as required and deemed necessary per Radiology Director/Manager to include Radiology Technologist duties to include general x-ray and surgical x-ray imaging as needed.
Verify and transmit each exam to the PACs System; addressing any issues to ensure an accurate medical record of images and results.
Maintains record of each patient examination by completing documentation for examination procedure and protocol used: medical symptoms, history, contraindications. This includes amount of contrast injected (if any), what type of contrast and clinical information in the patients medical record.
Operates EMR proficiently, trouble shoots problems with orders and makes corrections within scope of user level.
Verify the physician signed order for the CT exam before beginning the test
Sets up and maintains all physiological monitoring equipment and supplies: pulse oximeter, contrast power injector, cardiac, peripheral, and respiratory gaiter, and all other equipment necessary to complete procedure.
Administers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist to include ensuring appropriate IV access and initiating IV access when needed
Performs Daily QC or other calibrations needed periodically on CT equipment.
