Job Summary
The Lithotripsy Technologist operates the lithotripter under the treating physician's supervision. Anticipates the move of the urologists and assists in safe and efficient completion of the lithotripsy procedure with complete knowledge of the operative functions of the unit.
Essential Functions
Qualifications
Associate Degree graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology. required 1-3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist required 1-3 years experience performing urological procedures as a Radiologic Technologist preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals and external vendors Ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment/applications Basic computer skills Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional behaviors at all times Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy and comply with all HIPPA requirements Ability to use initiative and independent judgment Knowledge of radiation safety and protection proceduresLicenses and Certifications
ARRT Radiography Certification required Licensed Radiologic Technologist As required by state required BCLS - Basic Life Support required CRLS - Certified Renal Lithotripsy Specialist through American Lithotripsy Society preferred
