ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant at Majid Al Futtaim is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with internal and external regulations. The role involves managing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, and supporting audits and month-end closing processes. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills and attention to detail to support business decisions and maintain financial integrity across the organization.

ROLE PROFILE

Perform monthly journal capturing and general ledger account reconciliations (pre-payments, accruals, salaries, inter-group loans, fixed assets, etc.)Perform month-end accounting activities and reporting.Coordinate with other departments (O2C, P2P,Tax etc…) to ensure accurate and timely general ledger balances.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Make accounting records available for review, on a timely basis, by entities, internal auditors, external auditors and other stakeholders, as required.Ensure you are always up to date with IFRS, tax laws and country accounting regulations.Prepare monthly lease reconciliations.Perform petty cash booking and reconciliation.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/commerce.3-6 years’ experience in accounting field.CMA / IFRS qualified or near qualification is a plus.Attention to detail and focus on quality.Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken).Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
