Job Duties:

A structured process that ensures a hardware design performs as intended and meets its functional, performance, and regulatory requirements.Write step-by-step procedures that define how hardware is tested, the conditions, and what constitutes a pass/fail outcome.Systematically identify the root cause of hardware failures and document any discrepancies between expected and observed behavior.Use a primary instrument to visualize and measure voltage over time. Essential for observing signal waveforms, rise/fall times, glitches, overshoot, and noise.Apply statistical techniques to determine how many samples are needed for valid testing and how to interpret test data.Use a standard for accessing debug and boundary scan features in microcontrollers and FPGAs. Allow step-through debugging, memory inspection, and firmware flashing.Perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and interference (EMI) analysis to evaluate whether a device emits or is susceptible to disruptive electromagnetic energy.Use a powerful software platform for data analysis, visualization, control system simulation, and algorithm development.Use a handheld or benchtop instrument to precisely measure voltage, resistance, and current in electronic circuits.Measure and evaluate signal attributes such as amplitude, frequency, phase, duty cycle, rise/fall time, noise, and distortion.Use a serial communication protocol to transmit data between devices using just TX, RX (and sometimes CTS/RTS) lines.Use a unified platform that includes a code editor, compiler, debugger, and build tools for firmware/software development.

Education: The minimum qualification required for performing the above specialty occupation duties is a bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical or equivalent in a related field or a foreign equivalent is required closely related field with relevant experience.
