Overview PepsiCo is looking for R&D Technician to join in R&D site in Leicester. The R&D technician supports the Europe Sector product development teams through a variety of activities. This includes vigilant sample management and analysis, data and sample collection during trials & creation of prototype samples. These elements will involve working within both PepsiCo or 3rd party facilities which will require an ability to balance rigor, creativity and sense of initiative whilst always maintaining compliance to standards. Tasks such as DODs, shelf life studies, trials (Europe wide), stock ordering and movement, gold standard logistics and PVQ will all form part of the role. Responsibilities To plan, organise, execute and communicate assigned project support tasks [with autonomous ownership], whilst maintaining an high level of confidentiality and integrity Support the team to ensure all base, samples, raw materials and documentation are delivered, stored and controlled appropriately Contribute to product testing by ensuring product is of appropriate quality and provided in a timely manner. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance by product testing by ensuring quality and standards are maintained. Support Technologist/Project manager with specific tasks during plant trials across European production sites [with accurate and complete reporting of such work] Develop and prepare prototype samples under the direction of the Platform Development Manager using safe and best practice operation of bench and pilot scale equipment. Contribute to workstreams to improve ways of working across the team e.g. improvement of business processes to drive greater efficiencies, sharing of knowledge to create better team cohesion & developing others through coaching & sharing best practice Undertaking seasoning functionality testing and reporting data to product developers Qualifications Experience in a food production including a laboratory / pilot plant environment. Seasoning/packaging experience is also a plus. Numerate to GCSE standard-Maths, science & English. Preferably A level. Computer literate - familiar with Microsoft office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point. Knowledge of AIB requirements to ensure product is of appropriate quality and provided in a timely manner. Ability to organize and autonomously execute project support tasks with high level of confidentiality and integrity. Full driving license. Ability to manage workload and work to a defined timeline. Attention to detail. Self-starter, self-motivating: able to work with agility without losing momentum and manage uncertainty with ability to deal with change. Good team worker. Able to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels internally and to commercial partners when required. To be able to manage priorities by full alignment with Line Manager on a day to day basis.
