We are currently looking for our future R&D Project Manager who will be based in **Wabtec, Brunnthal**
**Who will you be working with?**
Technical Project Managers(TPL) is responsible for managing projects in technical areas. They work where skills in engineering are needed to coordinate tasks. A technical project manager is responsible for executing a project from specifications through planning to completion.
**What will your typical day look like?**
- Cross-functional management and control of the technical project tasks in R&D projects.
- Scheduling the tasks according to the given phase plans
- Assessment of risks
- Elaboration and monitoring of projects KPIs
- Organization of project milestones (quality gates) and preparation of milestone checklists
- Handover to projects/domains
- Operation on technical project management tools
- Monitoring the costs of the assigned programs
- Negotiates the workload to execute the projects:
o Directly, with resources reporting directly or indirectly to product engineering, by instance electronic engineering and software engineering.
o With Domains, for additional resources or technical areas not available at product engineering (mechanical engineering, RAMS, …).
o With ANNAX China engineering.
o With Transversal Domains at Faiveley Transport Tours.
**How will you make a difference?**
- Planning and delegating project tasks leveraging the resource planning processes/tools.
- Technical project management through successful R&D milestones
- Ensuring that the R&D milestones and quality gates are met
- Regular status check with team members
- Ensuring the information flow within the technical teams and reporting to the Product Engineering Manager.
- Conducting regular project status meetings
Organization:
- Indirect management of team members (whatever they’re staffed or not in product engineering)
- Staffed in the Product Engineering organization, reporting to the Product Engineering Manager
**What do we want to know from you?**
- Electronic, Electric or mechatronics engineering Dipl. Ing, Bachelor or comparable. It is necessary to dominate:
-Basics of electronics
-Basics of software development
-Basics of mechanical design (reading a mechanical drawing and comparing it with the actual device)
-Understanding international standards
-Basics of device testing
- Experience in technical project management of at least two years:
Planning
Negotiation of resources
-Quality gates process
-Budgeting and control of costs
-Autonomous, responsible person
-Capacity to relate with persons
- Fluent in English and German
