Overview PepsiCo is looking for R&D Regulatory Affairs Foods Compliance Sr. Analyst to join in Cairo, Egypt. Responsibilities • Drive business growth and sustainability by providing the necessary regulatory lead and direction for foods AOP agenda (innovations, BS, etc.) by ensuring timely regulatory input through TSG (Technical Stage Gate) and innovation councils, enabling STM. • Drive regulatory compliance ensuring full compliance of all our products in line with local regulations. • Lead the development of the PLS (Product Level Specification) Alongside Product Development stakeholders to ensure that the criteria set by the local or export market standards are met and accurate, enabling first time right artwork, to ensure speed to market. • Carryout the necessary Artwork review for new products, and new marketing campaigns. • Engage with claims council, to ensure the claim substantiation process is in place and all the correct stakeholders are involved and necessary inputs are captured for any new required product claims, also lead claim submission or registration process with local regulatory bodies, when needed. • Drive regulatory compliance for export projects to north African markets by conducting the comprehensive regulatory review of selected products, lead the development of PLS alongside PD stakeholders, and carryout review of new developed artwork. • Support productivity & business continuity projects by providing timely regulatory inputs and guidance during material qualification process, enabling cost savings and business continuity. • Carryout impact assessment for new raw materials regulatory standard to ensure ongoing compliance. • Carryout impact assessment for new category standard to ensure ongoing compliance. • Compile the regulated parameters for raw materials, and ensure they are up to date and reviewed in a timely manner to enhance the efficiency of material qualification process. • Providing proper support for external engagement counterpart, by providing the needed impact assessment for new regulations. • Engage within regional SRA team on business projects to enhance technical capability and awareness in different targeted commercial markets. • Conduct necessary risk assessment for business concerns (packaging write offs, process, ingredient, etc.) with business stakeholders, and provide proper guidance to the team to ensure business continuity. • Engage with the different R&D and business stakeholders to provide regulatory guidance and direction when needed. Qualifications • Degree in technical discipline (Food Science, Toxicology, Biochemistry) required • Minimum of 5 years R&D Functional experience (preferably including one or more of Product and packaging development/ Regulatory/ Quality / Food Safety disciplines). • 3 years of NEA (Mianly Egypt) SRA/Regulatory experience • Language: Excellent command of English (must be able to read, understand and apply regulations and use nuanced language for product claims) • Detailed knowledge of Egypt and regional Food and Beverage regulations, particularly areas relating to product design, packaging, labelling and manufacture. • Attention to detail and forethought of impact • Results-oriented, proactive self-starter, able to work on own initiative and as a team player • Ability to integrate into and communicate with different levels and functions of the organisation • Ability to provide insight to the business from both a strategic and tactical perspective • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including the ability to interpret complex subject matter and succinctly summarize achievements, communicate ably to range of stakeholders.
