This Position reports to:

Global Product & Technology Manager
 

Your role and responsibilities :

In this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business in Process Industry Division in Bangalore .


You will be mainly accountable for:

Lead R&D initiatives to develop advanced control algorithms including Model Predictive Control (MPC), state estimation, soft sensors, and real-time optimization.Design and implement end-to-end APC solutions for continuous and batch processes, particularly in cement, pulp & paper, mining, and other industrial verticals.Develop robust process models (first principles and hybrid) for control and optimization purposes.Work closely with portfolio managers, system architects, and customers to define technical requirements, scope, and feasibility for new products and features.Support the deployment and piloting of APC solutions at customer sites or remotely.Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methods in control theory, machine learning, and process analytics to improve existing solutions.
Qualifications for the role :Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics,  or Computer Science with focus on Process Control, Systems & Control, or a related field.Minimum 10+ years of industrial experience in design, development, and implementation of APC solutions.Deep expertise in Control Theory, Model Predictive Control, System Identification, and Optimization Algorithms (Linear and Nonlinear).Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, Simulink, or R for modeling and control development; familiarity with OPC, DCS/PLC integration, and cloud-based deployment is a plus.Application domain knowledge in process industries such as mining, cement, pulp & paper and other continuous and or batch process.Excellent Communication skills and ability to influence both internally and externally.
